Suilven (aka Sully!) is a small van who packs a punch for her size....rather like her Scottish mountain namesake Suilven!

Our goal whilst building Suilven was to break the mould with transporter conversions and introduce our signature style to a much smaller build, retain all the features of bigger campers and yet still have plenty of space to lounge around in and plenty of storage too.

One of our recent builds Nevis a LWB Sprinter was so popular that we decided do Sully's interior in the style of Nevis. So our challenge was to create a campervan with a large l-shaped curved sofa that converted quickly into a bed with plenty of storage for bedding. Keeping the curves we introduced in Nevis, black furniture, green upholstery and our iconic live edge worktops. Sully has a kitchen and worktop that is only 20cm smaller than our medium and long campervans! So plenty of practical storage, a hob, sink, 30 ltr of fresh water and even a hidden drawer to maximise the space. She has a tri-fold pop-top so you can stand upright throughout the campervan. We took great care to create her oak ceiling replacing factory fit components with brass. She has handmade copper lights and down lights throughout which produce a lovely warm light.

She also has a unique curved wall, you'll often find carpet and down lights in the pop-top lower frame we wanted Sully to feel exactly like our bigger models so we maximised the wall space and created a unique pattern carved into the wood that is also on the door cards and extends to her exterior graphics.

During the day you can relax on the inclined sofa, this is our most comfortable sofa yet its 185cm long and sits across the camper too. Plenty of space for chilling on and having friends round. Opposite we have oak fronted cabinets, an oak ipad and laptop stand, lower storage units with lift up lids and inset brass handles. Her table is set flush into the lower unit and flips up in place for drinks, dining, games and working at.

We've made Sully to be highly practical too, she has a porta loo tucked away that can still be used at night when the bed is out. You can also access the fridge when the bed is out, perfect for making a brew for those lazy mornings. Her heating controller is also easily accessible whilst still in bed. All things we love about our bigger campervans.

Mountain rescue is a charity very close to our hearts as they risk their lives every day on a voluntary basis to save the lives of others. Full size L-shape kitchen with beautiful live edge Pippy Oak worktop and splashback. For a small van the kitchen packs a punch in Suilven. There are 4 kitchen drawers which are all soft close, an 80cm unit for food storage and a 60cm unit which houses the fridge and has space for toiletries and a bin.

Sofa

Stylish L-shape sofa with a curve. The main sofa has an angled back for optimal comfy seating position. There is tonnes of storage under the sofa for bedding and clothes storage.

Bed

The sofa pulls out to make a 185cm x 125cm double bed using the sofa cushions as a comfy bed for 2 people. It takes seconds to set up and still allows for room for you to have the portable toilet out and still access the kitchen cupboards and fridge for a morning brew!

Pop Top bed

There is a double size bed in the pop top with a skyline mattress.

Table

There is a super easy pull up live edge oak table to match the worktops. It folds up and down with fold down hinges and we have concealed the hinges cleverly by recessing the table into the storage unit adjacent.

Toilet

There is a Thetford porta potty housed in the fixed sofa section which has it’s own compartment so nice and discreet.

Storage Unit

There is a generous sized storage unit adjacent to the sofa which has beautiful pippy oak flip up doors. The storage compartments can be accessed from both the top the front and rear of the van. In here you can store things like coats, shoes, tables and chairs and spare water.

Above the unit is a bespoke oak ipad/laptop stand with oak and copper shelves for books and plants etc.

HEATING

Underslung Webasto diesel heater which is plumbed directly in the fuel tank. INSULATION & VENTILATION

Behind the Scenes Information 

We named Suilven after the mountain 'Suilven' which is in the highlands of Scotland which has an iconic profile and is well known for it's 7 mile walk in before you even start going uphill. It certainly packs a punch for it's size which is very true of our little Sully! If you want to learn more about Suilven and be totally inspired- there is a fantastic film called Edie all about it!

You may have noticed all out previous builds have been named after mountains/mountain areas. When not busy building campervans in the workshop you can find us up a mountain!

Laura has climbed Suilven and was completely enchanted by it's strange profile and eerie presence. It's located in the Assynt area of the North West Highlands of Scotland where all the mountains rise up out of the landscape like giant monoliths. They are all surrounded by sea lochs and are stunning.

We have been building campervans since 2018 and you will see from our previous builds here that Suilven still retains every bit of our signature look and layout but has been developed to fit into a smaller space. The great thing about her size is is very easy to drive (just like a car), she fits into standard sized parking spots and you can get under most height barriers.
